Mario is a video game character created by Japanese game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and the official mascot of Nintendo. Donkey Kong is an arcade game that was first released by Nintendo in the early 1980’s. The storyline is thin but well-developed for its time. In it, Mario (originally called Jumpman) must rescue a damsel in distress, Pauline, from a giant ape named Donkey Kong. The hero and ape have gone on to become two of Nintendo's more popular characters.
Nintendogs launched in 2006 lets owners choose a puppy from one of 18 breeds, then raise and train the pup. Owners can teach their puppies new tricks. Successful trainers earn money and trainer points to use to buy additional breeds, new toys and accessories.
